Semaglutide is a once weekly injectable medication that helps reduce hunger and food cravings. It works by acting like a natural hormone in your body, Glucagon Like Peptide.  The change in the structure of GLP-1 in Semaglutide allows it to stay in the body for up to 7 days.

Wegovy is used for the treatment of obesity.  Ozempic is used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes.

The main difference between the two medications is the dose - Wegovy can be prescribed at a higher dose compared to Ozempic.
